Adorn The Gospel

Mark 16:15: And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Titus 2:10: Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

The main definition of the word gospel is good news. Some definitions of the word adorn: to put in proper order, decorate, garnish.

How do Christians adorn the gospel? They can make it seem ugly by living a sinful life, by a lack of wisdom, by a bad attitude and especially by being unloving.

Philippians 1:27: Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

1 Peter 3:34: Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; 4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

As a child I remember my mother*s instructions to Behave yourself. We adorn the gospel by behaving ourselves.
